Beauty Haul Essentials!

Find beauty in everything they said.. so I took a trip to the drug stores and picked out a load of beauty products hehe! ok ok that was cheesy, but no seriously I did, let’s not talk about the price uh oh haha but let’s talk about the products right? hell yes! 

So over the past couple of months I’ve been trying out new products and seeing what works best for me and spending time in america really allowed me to explore different stores and see what products are available! and I think I’ve cracked it, so I thought I’d show you what I got, below are all of the things I have been loving recently! 

 

KUKUI OIL SHAMPOO 

I needed a new shampoo and have been wanting to try OGX for sometime now.. perfect time to purchase or was that a perfect time to purchase it?! well the answer was a perfect time, it works wonders on my hair, I sometimes get a mix between frizzy and dry hair and knowing this has an oil in really works wonders, it targets frizzy hair and gives it a hydrating finish.

SATIN CARE GILLETTE | SHAVING GEL

Instead of beating round the bush I’ll just tell ya that the only main reason I brought this was because I got bikini line spots and I really wanted to get rid of them, so after much research well.. as everyone does.. searching through pinterest I came across using a shaving “gel” as before I’m not gonna lie I didn’t use anything. In case you have the same issue as me.. another tip I found useful was to shave with the grain and not shaving against it and can I say.. something worked because I’ve not had any spots since. yay!

JOHN FRIEDA | FRIZZ EASE 

Purposely brought because I frequently get frizzy hair, this stuff is great and I’m not just saying that.. I apply it after I’ve had a shower to damp hair and leave it in, it works wonders. Definitely up there with one of my best beauty purchases yet.

SIMPLE FACIAL CLEANSING WIPES

My only “go to” makeup wipes, I have sensitive skin when it comes to facial washes and makeup wipes so these simple sensitive skin wipes are perfect for taking my makeup off.

ELEGANT TOUCH 

You know once you’ve showered and you wanna paint your nails but your constantly procrastinating because it takes so long to dry and then your afraid of moving incase you smudge them and it’s like ALL I WANT TO DO IS TOUCH THE TV REMOTE haha, can you relate? was that not the best example? haha, well this stuff is the bomb it literally dries your nails in like 60 seconds, makes your nails a little shiny to.

TRESEMME SEA SALT SPRAY

Recently purchased this from superdrug, thought I’d give it a try to see how much “beach waves” turn out. Anyone tried this sea salt spray yet? pretty pricey so I’m hoping it was worth the money.

SALLY HANSEN STRENGTHENER 

Got this because at my work I’m not allowed to wear nail varnish, this is just a clear coat but it does makes my nails shiny and at the same time strengthens them.

RIMMEL NAIL POLISH

I am so in love with black nail polish at the moment.. I have no idea why haha. Going for that Coachella vibe perhaps. It just corresponds well with any outfit don’t you think? Anyhow I’m loving it.. I have it on right now as I type this haha. I purchased the Rimmel polish. I also love the fact that Rimmel have the 60 second drying nail polish WHAT did Jess just say?! Yes girls 60 seconds which persuaded me even more to purchase these bloody beauties.

SPRUNCH AUSSIE HAIRSPRAY

To cut a long story short.. Trevor had this at his house and I asked him if I could borrow it. Turns out I LOVED it didn’t I! So before I went home to the UK I brought one to use as I know we don’t have this sprunch hairspray here. It’s great for your curls and locks in your hair for them breezy days. This is in my top 3 of favorite hairsprays.

So Mother’s day is approaching in the USA and you’re on a budget? I get it, well I’m going to show you today that there are some really simple, easy, painless, straightforward and diverse ideas that you can create in your very own home.

Let’s start with mason jars, they are totally in trend right now and they really portray a vintage vibe. I had one in my bedroom not really doing much but sitting there all pretty for decoration staring right at me, what could I do with something like that? well look no further, pick up that jar and fill it with anything you can find, for me I went straight to the shredder and filled it with some shredded paper at the bottom for like a base as such and then you can simply place anything you find lying around the house that hasn’t been opened which could potentially be a gift, or it doesn’t even have to be a gift, here I’ve filled my jar with some nail varnishes and will call it “Manicure in a jar” your mum will love these little pamper treats, fill it with some of her favorite colors so she has a choice to choose from, choice is always good!

Or if you do not have a mason jar at home look around for what you could have? I also found a china dish in my bedroom which was empty, perfect for filling and using as a gift! Below are a few pictures of how I have put together a little gift set involving the china dish, I found these things around my home.

So there you have it many ideas on how to simply create a mother’s day gift from home, get creative and let me know if you’ve made anything similar! If you don’t already know, pinterest has many ideas from creating candles to baking flower cupcakes, bath salts, handcrafted flower bouquets, soaps, salt dough bowls, bath bombs, light bulb flower vases, sugar scrubs and it could even be something simple as making your mum some breakfast in bed. You name it, pinterest has every idea so more inspiration go and take a look on there!

Feeling Anxious? – How to De-Stress.

Told you I’d be back with another blog! 🙂

So today’s blog I’m going to talk about anxiety. I suffer from anxiety and I get anxious quite a lot. This isn’t something I find easy to talk about, but I’ve found out the more you do talk about why your anxious or when you are then the more it helps you to de-stress. It solves things quicker and makes you feel like your not alone. 

I get anxious easily but do not suffer from panic attacks as much. 

Panic Attack Experience:

I think I’ve always been a nervous child and from what I can remember I was on holiday once and we went out for a meal with my parents, we were waiting for the food and I just started feeling “weird” I had to go to the bathroom because I was feeling dizzy and just strange. I remember splashing my face with water and not telling my parents how I felt until I got back to the table. I walked out of the bathroom sort of disorentated and went back to sit down, I remember saying I couldn’t breathe at all. I couldn’t swallow my food at all and all I remember saying and wanting to do was to leave that restaurant and go outside for air. Finally we went outside and I calmed down which was good.

What to do when anxiety gets too much?

Okay so when anxiety got a little too much for me, I sat my parents down and just explained that everything was to much and that I can’t control my worrying, I’m anxious constantly and nothing was seeming to help as the next day i’d be the same again. I visited the doctors and was given the name “social anxiety”. I was given CBT Talking Therapies to attend once a month where I’d sit down and talk about ways to improve my anxiety and stop getting as anxious. This seemed to help. 

If you feel stressed, anxious, nervous or your constantly worrying and you can not control it.. Please contact a doctor, or speak to someone close to you. 

Calming music 

  • Sometimes when I’m out and about for example when I’m on a busy train/bus I listen to music on an app called “calm” which you can download for free, it is for people who get anxious and contains breathing excercises on. Please give this a go. 

Worry Diary

  • Whilst I attended talking therapies I was told to give a worry diary a try, every day at 7pm for 15 minutes I would write down everything that’s worried me today and think of positive things about each one I had done well, then after 15 minutes I would rip up the paper and throw it in the bin so that the worry’s have gone. 15 minutes was just my worry time. It would help during the day and stop me worrying as I would worry and think positive at 7pm.
