Hey Guys!

So we’re actually moving house this Thursday so it’s a little busy preparing for that and also preparing for America in January. A lot going on. So I haven’t gotten round yet to make some Mince Pies! Which for me is something I traditionally make every year at christmas! I’m sure i’ll make some when I move into the new house. But I thought i’d show you some of the ones I made last year. I’m a little unsure on parts of the recipe so I thought instead I could just explain how I remember making them, what ingredients I needed and tell you things I can remember.

So you’ll need shortcrust pasty to make mince pies, hey just a favor.. save the time and buy the ready roll stuff out, it’s great and you don’t have to spend an hour trying to let out your anger with a rolling pin. Get creative and cut some circles out for the base of the pie (cut them a little large) you want the top covering to be shorter then the base. Place the pastry into a muffin case and pop into the muffin case tins. Next!

Mince Meat! (The stuff that tastes great inside!) Doesn’t matter how much you put in really.. well with in reason, I mean put a good decent amount in, because you don’t want the sauce and everything to go over the edge and get burnt. For the top part! I always find this so fun! As you can see on mine I cut out these cute little stars in the pastry (shortcrust ready roll pastry) and placed on top of the pies How cute?! I think they look much more edible as well haha. This is the part I wasn’t sure how long I put them into the oven for, but I’m sure you can use my recipe and find out the temperature and time scale for them online. For

Decoration.. well I just sprinkled on some icing sugar for that christmas snowy look effect haha.

Welcome back everyone and welcome new followers! 🙂

A very exciting blog today from a very excited person! haha. So as I sit here and write this on my dressing table I do have my christmas spice candle on by the side of me and the festivity in the background with wham playing – Last Christmas and no it’s not December just yet. But as we slowly creep towards December with only one more day to go, I thought i’d get my baking hat on and see what I could make in the kitchen!

Chocolate Chip christmas Muffins! Yep that’s what I like to call them! These are super easy to make which I found very exciting doing myself but also children would LOVE making these! These do not take a lot of time to prepare or make and they certainly do not make a lot of mess but so what it’s all about having fun at christmas! Also I hope this helps because I’ve tried to take a lot of photos to make it easier for you guys to see what to do. Please find below the Recipe for making these Chocolate Chip christmas Muffins! Let’s gooooooo!

Chocolate Chip Christmas Muffins Recipe – Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 125g Plain Flour.
  • 25g Cocoa Powder.
  • 1 tea spoon – Baking Powder.
  • 1 egg.
  • 60g sugar.
  • 2 table spoons – oil.
  • 100ml milk.
  • Muffin Tray.
  • 6 Cake cases.
  • Bowl.
  • Jug.
  • scales to measure ingredients.
  • Extra’s – Make your own or buy your own squirty icing,which you can buy from any supermarket/grocery store I used Dr. Oetker cupcake icing, very easy and quick to use and you can get this in 3 different flavors strawberry, chocolate, vanilla. (I also brought the snowmen and little christmas related cake decorations which are edible – brought from Sainsburys).

Get yourself prepared first! Line the 6 cupcake cases up into the muffin tin.

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 160˚C.
  2. Sieve together the Flour, coca powder, baking powder in a bowl. img_5821-2    img_5824    img_5826
  3. Put the milkegg, oil and sugar into a jug and mix together for at least a minute. img_5827    img_5829
  4. Now pour this mixture into the bowl and mix together well, this is also the time when I poured the chocolate chips in, don’t worry if the mixture is a little lumpy, that’s okay. 🙂

5. Spoon the mixture into your muffin cases and after place into the oven for 20 minutes! if after 20 minutes they still do not looked cooked, (muffins usually crack open at the top once cooked) place them back into the oven or a further 10 minutes.

6. Whilst your waiting for you muffins to cook! Wash up and get it out the way, tidy the side so your ready to put the icing on and decorations.

7. Leave the muffins to cool on a drying wrack for 5 minutes.

8. Decorate them with icing and edible christmas decorations or however you want to decorate them! Go Ahead! Get Creative, there is no right or wrong.

9. Most important part! Eat them with a cup of tea and let me know how you got on! 🙂

Well  that’s it! That is how you make chocolate chip christmas muffins! simple ay? and you can decorate them however you want and get creative! Don’t forget, it’s all about having fun and I definitely did!

Healthy Kebab Snacks?!

Hey Guys!

It’s Jess here and I’m back to share with you some Healthy Kebab snacks, it’s fun to make with your kids or your partners and yummy to eat! Also quick to make!

Here are some that I made earlier!


Now as you can tell I’ve made a mixture of kebabs using:

  • Pineapple
  • Grapes
  • Melon
  • Strawberries

But I thought it’d be fun to try putting different things on! Such as you can see..

  • Ham
  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumber
  • Pepper

You can make your healthy Kebab sticks by adding anything you want on!

They were yummy!

Saturday Cinnamon Swirls! :) 


Hello everyone!

We’re back again! 🙂

So I just found this picture on my phone that I took on Saturday morning, it was some cinnamon swirls with icing sugar on the top.

We brought the pack from Tesco and decided to give it a go! I believe it was a yellow box in the fridge department called”just roll”.

Super easy to create!

  • So we had to unroll the pack first and they popped open, it was a lovely pop sound haha.
  • Then we had to cut the log into 6 pieces and spread them evenly onto the baking tray.
  • Pop them in the oven for about 10-15 minutes and abracadabra.
  • They should be golden brown and look really yummy.
  • The pack did come with some icing sugar which you can mix with a table spoon of water and pour onto the cinnamon rolls after they’ve cooled down.

Super easy and quick to make if you want something different for breakfast and your dashing out of the door. Remember the icing sugar is just a luxury to pour on top, so don’t feel like you have to pour it on top.

Definetly give these ago guys! I’ll be buying these again! 🙂
