For many of you this is a blog post that you’ve been waiting for a while now, you’ve not seen what we look like until today and if were being completely honest with you it’s because we didn’t think we were 100% okay with “putting ourselves out there” just yet, so we decided we were going do the reveal once we received the wedding pictures. So here we go, please be kind but most importantly please enjoy this blog post.
It was hard to plan a wedding when we were doing long distance at the time, we were planning a wedding through our phones and at times it was hard to communicate to each other, we did it though and we very proud of ourselves for this.
We knew we didn’t want to spend a lot of money so we thought wisely and managed to use our money on things we knew would work but at the same time things we wanted.
10.24.2017 – Our Wedding Day
The best day of our lives, we were finally able to tie the knot in front of the people we loved the most. We got married in the upper peninsula of Michigan in this beautiful wooden hut surrounded by lake superior. I mean what more could you possibly ask for.
We got really lucky with the weather, for the past couple of years it snows every year on black friday so we weren’t sure what we were going to be in for, luckily it didn’t, it was very cold. We were lucky to get some really nice pictures at the beginning and by the end of the day it began to rain whilst we were out in it, my dress got wet but we were all so shocked at how quick it dried.
My family is from the UK, they hired a rental car to use for the four days that they were here and my dad got a little lost at times so Trevor turned out to be the local sat nav.
Our wedding was based around 40 minutes from where we currently live, so we both got changed and ready in serperate rooms at my parents hotel. Afterwards we drove together in the same car ready for pictures before our wedding.
My dad walked walked me down the isle which was a precious moment for both of us (we walked so slow so we could time the walk to the music where it was going to shut off lol).
We were so grateful to have such wonderful photographers at our wedding which made every moment that little more special. – https://www.rockhillphoto.com/
We decided on doing the sand ceremony which was so beautiful. All timing was perfect on our wedding, we both made a list of how we wanted everything to work out.
Jess’s brother was on music duty, he played our walking down the isle song which was “A thousand years” by Christina Perri.
After we got married we danced together to one of our favorite songs “All of me” by John Legend.
We finished the day off by having a family meal at a really nice restaurant. We were very grateful that both of our parents had booked us in to two nights at two different hotels where we stayed in a suite!
Our wedding cake was beautiful and turned out exactly the way we pictured it, we couldn’t have been happier. We both love grey and Trevor surprised me on our wedding day at the restaurant that he’d gotten the cake company to turn the bottom of the cake into a grey fade.
November 24th 2017, a beautiful day and every second was precious surrounded by everyone we loved.
Thank you to all family members that were there, you made every moment special, thank you to the photographers for adding to the touch and to everyone that made our day be as special as possible.
Love Trev n Jess
